HFA is seeking Staff Accountant for a vigorously growing Architecture, Engineering and Construction firm. HFA works with retail brands you would recongnize and due to growth we want to add to our accouniting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional to grow with an employe owned firm with studios in Bentonville, Ark; Boston,Ma, Fort Worth, Tx; Springfield, Mo; and Mexico City, Mexico.
Would prefer a candidate based in Northwest Arkansas but this position could be fully remote for a highly qualified candidate.
Primary responsibility will include but not limited to processing payroll, setting up new employees, receiving payments and processing cash disbursements.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring transactions are approved, entered, and processed timely and accurately, for each legal entity ensuring a smooth close process for the accounting department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Enter transactions timely and accurately:
- Enter clients’ payments from direct deposits, lockbox, checks, etc. as indicated or deposit to the client overpayment account for immediate follow-up
- Obtain appropriate approval to record and pay vendor/consultant payables via check or ACH as required
- Handle general ledger journal entries as instructed
- Set up new employees and terminations in accounting system
- Maintain employee changes in accounting system and the payroll system
- Process payroll every two weeks and off-cycle as needed
- Obtain new W-9 forms for vendors where appropriate
- Prepare and mail monthly client A/R statements as required
- Assist with annual form 1099-NEC and 1099-Misc filing
- Assist with gathering historical information for financial reviews and audits as instructed

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 2 years experience in general ledger accounting, either in a public or private setting
- Experience with Construction or Project Accounting Processes and Software a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft F&O (Finance and Operations) a plus
- Experience with Vision Deltek software is a plus
