As the Staff Accountant, you will support the accounting department by performing daily accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling accounts. You will also ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and assist in preparing financial statements.
To thrive/succeed as the Staff Accountant, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience; familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.
Your responsibilities as the Staff Accountant will include:
- Record and update financial transactions to ensure accuracy in the general ledger.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with audits and ensure accounting activities adhere to regulatory and company policies.
