Hart Engineering is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Construction Manager (CM) to oversee the subcontracted electrical work for a key Biotech client at their West Greenwich, Rhode Island site. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting electrical project drawings, coordinating subcontractor activities, managing schedules, and ensuring that electrical work complies with safety standards and project specifications. This is a contract position with the potential to transition into a full-time role with Hart. The position represents an opportunity to manage and lead all electrical projects in collaboration with a preferred electrical contractor at our clients West Greenwich site.

Electrical Construction Manager (CM)

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting electrical project drawings, coordinating subcontractor activities, managing schedules, and ensuring that electrical work complies with safety standards and project specifications. Key Deliverables:
- Review and assess power, electrical, and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) project drawings to ensure all requirements are met
- Develop and maintain detailed construction plans and schedules for electrical work, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
- Solicit and manage contracts for electrical subcontractors, ensuring all agreements align with project goals and specifications
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations of electrical subcontractors, including on-site supervision and project coordination
- Monitor subcontractor performance, ensure quality control, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with all relevant codes and regulations
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients project managers to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution
- Track and report progress, delays, and any potential risks, providing timely updates to stakeholders
- Manage all aspects of electrical project work, from planning and execution through to final inspection and closeout
- Project Coordination: Oversee the execution of electrical work, ensuring it aligns with the overall project scope, timeline, and budget
- Contractor Management: Solicit, negotiate, and manage electrical subcontractor contracts, ensuring that all terms and conditions are met
- Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate subcontractor activities on-site, providing direction and support to ensure high standards of quality and safety
- Scheduling and Planning: Develop, update, and track project schedules to ensure deadlines are met. Identify and address any potential delays proactively
- Compliance and Safety: Enforce all safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards
- Risk Management: Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between Hart, Amgen, and subcontractors, ensuring seamless communication and coordination
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction management, with a strong background in power systems, electrical installations, and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical construction processes, codes, safety standards, and best practices
- Project Management: Proven experience in managing large-scale electrical projects, from planning through to completion
- Subcontractor Management: Experience in managing subcontractors, including contract negotiation, performance oversight, and scheduling
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise and guide electrical subcontractors effectively
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- This position may initially be offered on a 1099 contract basis for 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role, contingent upon mutual agreement and successful performance
