Position Overview

As the Bookkeeper & Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records, supporting budget management, and providing actionable insights to the leadership team. This is a hands-on role where accuracy, organization, and collaboration are key to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping & Financial Management: Maintain and update accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the leadership team to manage project budgets and forecast financial performance.

• Monthly Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and project accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Tax Preparation & Reporting: Prepare financial records to support tax filings, including sales tax, and coordinate with external accounting teams.

• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, providing clear insights to guide executive decision-making.

• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Ensure vendors are paid on time and assist in collecting outstanding receivables.

• Audit Support: Organize and provide required documentation for internal and external audits.

• Software Integration: Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop (Contractor Version), Buildertrend, and Microsoft 365 for financial management and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in bookkeeping and accounting, with experience in construction or real estate preferred.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus but not required with sufficient experience.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop (Contractor Version) and Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with Buildertrend or other project management/accounting software is highly desirable.

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and accuracy in maintaining financial records.

• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction-related accounting practices and cost coding is preferred.

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams, vendors, and leadership.
