Hart to Heart is looking for dedicated EMT's to work our Baltimore City Fire Dept. Emergency 911 contract!

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD State Certifications!
  • Must be compliant with all certifications necessary to fulfill the position as an EMTB
  • Must have a driving record compliant with H2H’s driving policy
PRIMARY FUNCTION

Emergency Medical Technicians – Basic provide basic life support (BLS) to patients with illness/injury per established standards of care and in accordance with the current jurisdictional medical protocols for emergency medical service providers. Those who meet Hart to Heart’s minimum standards for driving also operate emergency vehicles.

PRIMARY DUTIES

· Provide basic life support to patients within EMT-B scope of practice

· Complete patient care reports and other documentation and submit same to appropriate parties and maintain confidentiality of this patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

· Conduct regular inventory of assigned transport unit/chase vehicle, with particular attention to medications, fluids, and other materiel subject to expiration, and rotate same to maintain current stock

· Comply with all safety guidelines and recognize and promptly report unsafe situations

· Operate assigned vehicles safely and in accordance with applicable traffic laws (if assigned as a driver)

· Ensure readiness of assigned vehicles at beginning and end of shift

· Clean and fuel assigned vehicles and care for and maintain, within reason, equipment and assigned apparatus; reporting deficiencies to proper personnel

Physical Requirements

· Ability to safely lift up to 300 pounds with partner

· Ability to access interior of the ambulance (step of up to 16 inches) using OEM equipment unassisted

· Periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and turning

· Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50lbs of equipment and medical bags unassisted

· Frequent movement in the back of the ambulance in tight conditions

· Frequent assistance with transferring patient from bed to stretcher and vice-versa

· Able to operate motor vehicle without restrictions

· Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

· Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects safely with assistance and without difficulty

· Ability to walk up and down stairs without difficulty and the ability to lift and carry 300 pounds up and down one flight of stairs (16 – 19 steps) safely with assistance

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Opportunity to work double shifts
  • 1 weekend day every 6 weeks required 
License/Certification:

  • MD EMT Certification (Required)
  • CPR Certification (Required)
  • Driver's License with less than 2 pts on your record (Preferred)
  • 21 to be a driver/ attendant with us, if you are under 21 you cannot drive
