Mission of the Role
The Mission of this role is to compute, classify, record, verify and maintain financial data as it relates to Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable Accounting. This would involve compiling and sorting documents and substantiating business transactions.
Education/Experience
A good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures is necessary. One or more years of accounting experience is preferred. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field is preferred. In addition, knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in computers is required as most transactions are done electronically. Must have good communication and problem-solving skills and be organized and pay attention to detail and accuracy.
Accountant Accountabilities
- Audits supplier invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
- Receives and reviews invoices from vendors, matches documents, codes and batches, assembles voucher packages for approval by appropriate managers, and processes checks to send to trade and non-trade vendors.
- Assists employees, suppliers, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, invoice discrepancies and services.
- Enters data to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
- Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports, and makes corrections.
- Submit monthly reports and help in month end closing.
- Proper use of discretion to maintain customer confidentiality and maintaining integrity.
- Teamwork and involvement with other finance team members and Hartfiel associates outside the finance department.
- Assists with related special projects, as required.
- Assists in monthly and year-end closing, including annual audit.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
This is an office clerical role, sitting or standing at a work station, utilizing a telephone and personal computer. Incumbent will need to lift over 10 pounds infrequently to a maximum of 25 pounds.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
