What are the responsibilities and job description for the 0.5 FTE Math Intervention (grades 6-8) position at Hartford School District?
Hartford Memorial Middle School is a grade 6-8 school of approximately 300 students dedicated to the development of the whole child. Teachers value close collaboration to create a supportive and authentic learning environment for our learners which includes recognizing inequities and responding to them effectively, interrupting and dismantling power and privilege inequities, and engaging with students and families in ways that do not replicate societal injustices. The successful applicant will be creative, open-minded, and excited about the unique opportunities that our middle school offers. The successful candidate must be a team player who is ready to think outside the box to meet the unique developmental needs of middle-level learners. This position is for a 0.5 Math interventionist licensed to teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math.
This individual will work closely with teaching teams and a second math interventionist to provide in-class and pull-out supports to students identified to be in need of math interventions. The schedule can be somewhat flexible (mornings or afternoons, 2.5 full days a week, etc.). The successful applicant will: Hold a Vermont middle level math certification (4-19b) (dual middle level licensure is a huge bonus); Demonstrate knowledge of best practices in math curriculum, instruction, and assessment;Demonstrate strong understanding of middle level learners and the nature and needs of young adolescents;Demonstrate understanding of Common Core State Standards; Be open to or have experience with collaborating with team colleagues to create a dynamic learning environment for students across content areas.
