We require the talent of a Purchasing Supervisor to join our team. Under the leadership of the Plant Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. Accountability will include providing support to maintain adequate inventories, ordering supplies, managing stock, eliminating non-usable items, and solving inconsistencies between inventory and stock records.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Day shift position with the ability to support “off shifts”. May be required to work flexible hours to support emergency and shift requirements.
WHERE YOU COME IN:
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies with optimal business terms and conditions.
- Establish and Maintain storeroom inventory layout, location and parts labelling.
- Oversee repair and spare parts inventory. Assess, manage and mitigate risks for stakeholders to ensure clear requirements are met, and orders are on time and available when required.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Assist in strategic procurement and planning for capital projects by collaborating with other plant management
- Lead inventory accuracy activities: cycle counting and physical inventories to ensure adequate stock
- Identify obsolescence and remove obsolete parts from inventory
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Oversee proper purchasing receipts of materials and services
- Oversee and manage staff to assist in carrying out responsibilities
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Post Secondary education in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Business Management. Complimented with 5 years of working experience within procurement and stores in a manufacturing department.
- Proven history of storeroom and inventory management
- Negotiation expertise with a working knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts and agreements, sourcing and vendor management
- Proficiency in Vendor and Inventory management Software(s) as well as analysis in Business Intelligence and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills complimented with the ability make decisions.
- Must be willing and available to support operations within in a 24/7 operation.
