Hartzell Propeller was founded in 1917 and is headquartered in Piqua, Ohio. Hartzell Propeller is the global leader in advanced aircraft propeller design and manufacturing technology for general aviation applications – both piston engine and turboprop – as well as custom propulsion solutions for electric, hybrid-electric aircraft and advanced air mobility programs. General Responsibilities
- Perform non-destructive testing on composite propeller blades according to specific manuals and procedures.
- Interpret and evaluate test results and provide recommendations for further action.
- Operate and maintain ultrasonic testing equipment.
- Generate nonconformance reports and maintain documentation of all test results.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide technical support to engineers and other professionals in the field.
- Collaborate with other technicians in testing and interpretation of test results.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training and development opportunities.
Examples of Typical Job Activities
1. Inspect composite propeller blades per instruction.
2. Complete manufacturing documentation prior to moving parts
3. Complete necessary computer transactions
4. Perform required transactions to disposition blades in a timely manner
Requirements
Requirements
Required Experience:
· High school diploma/GED required
· Must have completed classroom NDT- UT Training Hours
o NAS-410 Certification for non-destructive testing
· 1-3 year’s experience
Required Technical Skills
- Technical/mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency preferred
- Able to prioritize critical work activities and use time effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Willing to learn new processes and procedures
