What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Technician you will assist in the development of composite and metal spinners and bulkheads. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the design of spinners and bulkheads, working with customers to integrate them onto their aircraft, collaborating with suppliers and the manufacturing team on legacy and new spinner designs, and resolving service difficulty issues. Additional responsibilities include supporting disposition of non-conforming material and resolution of internal production issues by performing technical tasks, such as evaluating part quality issues, coordinating lab work, reviewing certification and technical data sheets, examining internal manufacturing process and maintenance manuals, and performing engineering tests.
Key Deliverables Include:
1) Take ownership of spinner/bulkhead tasks and projects from inception to completion
2) Work effectively and professionally with customers, engineering, and manufacturing to coordinate the implementation of spinners and bulkheads.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
1) Design/evaluate spinner installations for new/existing applications
2) Research internal and external technical information in support of problem resolution
3) Review part drawings, materials and manufacturing processes
4) Perform fit and tolerance stack up evaluations
5) Coordinate internal engineering tests
6) Contact vendors and suppliers to obtain technical assistance
7) Write engineering reports to documents findings, analyses, results and conclusions
8) Conduct engineering tests and analyses such as visual examination and photographic documentation of fractured components, dimensional inspections and part sectioning
9) Examination of receiving, manufacturing and inspection records
Documentation of findings to include root cause identification, background information, tests conducted, data analysis, results, conclusions and recommendations
Requirements
What’s Required
Associates in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a High School Diploma and two or more years of design experience and/or training in mechanical engineering or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
What’s Preferred
1) Proficient with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred)
2) Proficient Computer Skills (MS-Office and Product Data Management Software))
3) Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, engineering blueprints, technical procedures and government regulations.
4) Understanding of manufacturing methods
5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills
