What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at Hartzell?
1. Inspects finished goods for defects and conformance to customer requirements & engineering specifications prior to authorization to ship
2. Communicates any non-conformances found for resolution
3. Performs random in-process inspections of components
4. Performs inspections as required on components being received
5. Controls calibration process, records, and audits
6. Reads and interprets drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
7. Reports key metrics in quality reviews
8. Communicates and interacts with company supervisors, management, engineering, internal and external auditors and peers
9. Comprehends and applies the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material
10. Assists with Internal & External Audits
11. Serves as an Auditor for Internal Audits
12. Continuously improving processes
Requirements
1 - 2 years of experience within Hartzell in assembly or hands on experience, is strongly recommended
Experience with ISO 9001 : 2015 a plus
Previous leadership experience is a plus
Previous application of lean manufacturing and structured problem solving tools are a plus
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio is preferred
Occasionally lifts materials (10% of normal work day) material weighing 5-25 lbs. Lifting generally from floor level to waist level
Must be capable of close, distant, and color vision and have good depth perception
Must reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
Must be reliable and willing to work overtime when required
Understands technical aspects of the Assembly / Shipping / Crating / Test Departments
Must have a self-motivated / driven disposition
