Destino Summer Associate
Job Summary:
The Title III Program Assistant builds relationships with the bilingual community in order to benefit and become involved in Title III programming. The Title III Program Assistant empowers Latino families with the resources needed to achieve their educational goals for their youth. Title III programming is focused on academics, tutoring, life-skills activities, and community service.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bilingual required
Evaluation:
The supervisor shall annually evaluate the participant. Such evaluation shall be reviewed with the participant and made part of his/her permanent record.
Reports to:
Director of Bilingual and Dual Language Programming
Terms of Employment:
This is a part-time, hourly position for four weeks, from June 2nd to June 26th, with an additional four days of planning and professional development to be determined.
- Hours: 4 hours a day, Monday through Thursday
- Compensation: $35.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the facilitator in conducting workshops or classes.
- Responsible for the participant recruitment, planning, preparation, implementation, and assessment of DESTINO.
- Initiates communication and follow-up to ensure student enrollment and retention in workshops or classes.
- Initiates communication and follow-up to ensure parent engagement and attendance to parent DESTINO events.
- Shows a genuine interest in the participants and in the material being presented.
- Arrives one-half hour before each session to prepare and to greet participants as they arrive.
- Responsible for the completion of the pre and post-surveys as requested by the program facilitator or the Director.
- Completes additional clerical duties as assigned by the Director.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this position include frequent sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Dependent on class/student assignment the employee may occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive bending at the waist as well as kneeling, stooping, crouching to assist students is also required. Employees may reach overhead as well as above the shoulders and horizontally.
