What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Health Fellow position at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians?
Job Summary
The Beth Israel Deaconess Global Health Fellowship in Medicine enables physicians passionate about addressing global health disparities to build skills as internal medicine hospitalists in the US, and also develop and strengthen skills to become effective, humble and innovative practitioners in resource-challenged settings. Global Health Fellows spend 6 consecutive months as an adult inpatient attending on resident-covered and non-resident covered services in Boston and community hospitals through the BIDMC Hospital Medicine Program, and 6 consecutive months as clinician-educators on adult inpatient wards in Botswana at Scottish Livingstone Hospital (SLH). Global Health Fellows will contribute to strengthening the BIDMC-Botswana Program’s core mission of clinical stewardship, quality improvement and medical education of US residents, Botswana-based trainees and other SLH staff.
Requirements
Board eligible/certified in Internal Medicine; Massachusetts state licensure (or ability to obtain prior to start date), Federal DEA, Massachusetts Controlled Substance Certificate.
