What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Union Accounting Specialist position at Harvard Resource Solutions LLC?
We were recently engaged in a new search for a Credit Union Accounting Specialist to work in the Troy, MI area.
Working Arrangement: Fully Onsite. 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Full Time – Direct Hire
Pay: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour. PTO and benefits package provided.
Reason for the opening: Need additional support for the team.
Requirements of the Credit Union Accounting Support person:
- High School Diploma.
- Previously worked at a Credit Union / Bank supporting the accounting area (Not a Teller position).
- Experience processing balances and reconciling entries.
Duties of the Credit Union Accounting Support person:
- Entering vendor invoices needing payment. Assist in processing check runs.
- Process daily accounting entries.
- Reconciling credit union transactions and corporate credit cards.
- Month end balancing.
- End of Day (EOD) Processing: Perform procedures and processes that a credit union follows at the end of each business day to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and prepared for the next day's operations.
- Transaction Processing: All transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments, are processed and reconciled.
- Account Reconciliation: Credit union staff ensure that all accounts, including checking, savings, and loan accounts, are accurately reconciled to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded.
- System Closure: The credit union's core banking system is closed for the day, and the system is prepared for the next business day.
- Reporting: Generate reports that summarize the day's activity, including transaction totals, account balances, and other key financial data.
- Support indirect dealer reserve processing: commissions paid to the dealership or sales company for directing the loan to the credit union.
- Support Credit Union member alerts for daily balance checks and other important transactions through the online platform
- Support Bill Pay Clearing: members schedule and pay bills online, often from a single platform, and can include features like recurring payments, payment history, and person-to-person payments.
