Harvest Preparatory Academy is a K-12 Charter School located in Yuma, Arizona. We are currently accepting applications for a qualified for Certified Public Accountant to work with our Finance Department. This position is a part-time position but can be hybrid or fully remote. Open to part-time employee or contractor.

JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for consulting with the management team about expenses, minimizing expense, controlling budget variances and the proper application of capital. Money management and high-level budgetary items are the key responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consult on Financial Management activities within the school district including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Review financial reports, statements, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory compliance.
- Develop and manage the district's budget in collaboration with relevant departments, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure adherence to accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
- Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms' performance.
- Provide guidance and training to staff members regarding financial practices, procedures, and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
- An MBA or CPA required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within an educational institution.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with all partners.
