Job Title: VP- Market Risk
Location: Houston, TX(Hybrid)
Duration: Full-time
Job Description:
- Risk identification, risk assessment, and risk monitoring on the US Power and US Gas business
- Design and maintain risk reports to monitor some key identified risks and adapt the monitoring as the market dynamics change
- Own the coordination, implementation, evolution, and communication of the risk reports
- Work collegially with the team and communicate effectively with the desk to understand the positioning of the desk and current market conditions
- Define and implement bespoke stress tests based on market conditions deterioration, specific risk quantification for communication and ventilation to the Senior Risk Management and Commercial teams
- Define and monitor predictive scenarios for portfolio risk to give a better intuition to management and the desk on the positioning as market conditions evolve
- Coding in Python, handling databases, and leveraging data visualization software (Tableau/Power BI) for effective presentation of metrics daily in dashboards.
- To undertake assessments of a wide range of transactions, carrying out modeling and analysis as necessary
- To communicate results effectively with traders and senior management
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or above
- Experience in the US Power and US Gas market risk
- Highly numerate, with good problem-solving and analytical skills
- High Coding skills, notably in Python, are essential
- Good communication skills – must be able to understand others’ perspectives and relate complex ideas to different groups, including senior management
- The ability to challenge proposals constructively to help ensure they are robust, whilst maintaining excellent working relationships
- Must be able to work collegially in a team, flexibly handling a wide range of potential issues
- Must be capable of working with significant autonomy and ensuring analysis is focused on delivering practical business benefits, often under tight deadlines
A reasonable, good-faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position is $170K/year to $180K/year with benefits
Salary : $170,000 - $180,000
