Scope:
The Vice President Fuels Marketing will lead and enable the Sales Team to accomplish departmental goals and objectives. These objectives include employee growth and development, obtaining the best product netbacks across the product slate, best-in-class service, stellar customer relationships and profitable growth of fuels markets. The department will also be transitioning into commercial fuel sales and delivery over the next few years. In addition, the role involves aligning fuels and biofuels purchasing and blending to meet the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) and blending objectives. The VP Fuels Marketing will have profit and loss responsibility and is expected to work collaboratively with the Executive Team in the development of long-term business strategies and ensure that those strategies are successfully translated and executed at the business unit level.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Sales Team and senior leadership to develop strategies for growth and sustainability.
• Direct four business verticals, including Commercial Operations, Corporate/Business Development, Strategy and Customer Service.
• Established commercial opportunities to meet company’s business objectives surrounding the energy transition movement.
• Direct fuel sales, supply, hedging, and pricing for convenience store chain and dealer sites, as well as transportation operations to achieve sales and diversification goals
• Drive strategy, processes, and initiatives to expand distribution and profitability.
• Built ethanol trading and scheduling desk, revamping strategy to allow effective management across procurement, inventory, forecasting, and trading.
• Represent senior leadership at key industry functions and conventions.
• Monitor the fuels regulatory environment.
• Participate in American Fuels and Petrochemical Manufacturers fuels committee and the Small Refinery Coalition.
• Act as subject matter expert on RFS and fuel matters in meetings with legislators when needed
• Develop long-term strategy for the fuels department.
• Oversee development and adherence to the annual budget.
• Motivate and lead a high-performance sales team with an ability to drive high levels of customer retention and new customer growth.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related area preferred.
• 10 years’ experience in fuels sales management.
• Strong comprehension of fuels market dynamics.
• Excellent understanding of Renewable Fuels Standard.
• Solid grasp of fuels specifications and performance issues.
• Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions in acquiring Jobbers.
• Ensure Sales Teams are adequately staffed with strong succession planning.
• Proficient understanding of fuels hedging.
• Ability to use planning software and SAP.
• Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel 30%.
