A busy and successful Veterinary Practice in Wickenburg is in search of an enthusiastic and energetic Lead Veterinary Technician to join the team. This individual should support the values and mission of the hospital supporting the practice owner and leadership team in providing personalized and exceptional care to the community. Responsibilities
- The lead veterinary technician must be a self-starter with the ability to critically think and have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Oversee and organize training from new entry-level assistants to seasoned CVTs. The lead veterinary technician will mentor and assist those who are working towards earning their CVT and CVA.
- The lead veterinary technician will be working on the floor while also completing the assigned administrative task to not exceed a 40 hour work week without the approval of the Practice Manager.
- Work together with the Practice Manager and Practice Owner to ensure the continued growth of our technical team.
- The lead veterinary technician must have strong writing and planning skills; part of the lead veterinary technician job will be creating materials to be used in training.
- Track completion of training courses and report on progress of each trainee.
- Receive and investigate patient care complaints, recommend solutions to Practice Manager and Practice Owner where appropriate, and respond as needed.
- Model exceptional care and service for patients and clients.
- Maintain or oversee maintenance of all technical/medical equipment.
- Ensure that patient services comply with all applicable law, regulations, and policies, according to federal and state mandates.
- Directly supervise veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and hospital kennel technicians
- Assist the Practice Manager recruit, interview, and hire veterinary technicians, and assistants.
- Assist the Practice Manager in coaching and counseling of veterinary technicians, and assistants, helping each set realistic goals to advance in their respective career.
- Schedule veterinary technicians, technician assistants and kennel technicians.
- Assist the Practice Manager in organizing and leading meetings for technical services staff.
- Communicate and reinforce the brand values and standards of Hassayampa Veterinary Services including professional appearance, grooming, communication, and personal conduct.

Hours & Availability
This is a full time opening! Your availability should align with our hours of operation as follows:
- Monday - Friday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
- Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
Compensation & Benefits
Our amazing team members can expect competitive pay! The starting range for this position is $20 to $28 per hour, dependent upon experience.
