Vehicle Communications System Operator Instructor

Summary:
The Vehicle Communications System Operator Instructor will deliver instruction on the operation and maintenance of vehicular communication systems at the Transmission Systems Operator level. The role includes training on radio operation, digital and voice transmissions, cryptographic key management, and secure communications support. Instructors will also support COMSEC policy enforcement and serve as custodians for communication equipment and cryptographic materials.
This position requires proficiency in analyzing and configuring network-based systems, understanding tactical communications procedures, and managing equipment and technical data related to C4/C2 systems in support of the New Equipment Training Team (NETT). *Position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction on the operation, maintenance, and configuration of ACV communication systems, subsystems, and equipment controls.
- Train students in diagnostic testing procedures, interpreting test results, and isolating faults at the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) level.
- Guide service members in the removal and installation of electronic components and in performing routine and corrective maintenance.
- Provide training in the service, calibration, adjustment, and fine-tuning of ground radio equipment and electronic testing machines.
- Perform instruction on PMCS procedures, inspections, repairs, and other tasks as outlined in ACV technical references.
- Teach inspection and classification procedures for vehicle intercommunication equipment and ensure compliance with standards.
- Conduct hands-on maintenance simulations and assist in OPCHECKs, installations, and inventory control processes.
- Evaluate and revise training content including lesson plans, student guides, audiovisual materials, and course exams.
- Ensure students are proficient in testing communications equipment per associated standards and technical manuals.
- Support quality control measures in coordination with the Lending Element Manager to confirm the completeness of maintenance actions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience training service members in a military period of instruction or training program.
- Strong technical proficiency with electronics and communications systems used in military vehicle platforms.
- Ability to service, repair, calibrate, and test electrical and electronic (non-mechanical) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend technical English, including terms related to diagnostics, maintenance, and electronics.
- Familiarity with the operation and field maintenance of ACV communications suites and intercom systems.
- Proficient with PMCS, troubleshooting, and repair procedures in accordance with technical references.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with ACV or similar military vehicle platforms.
- Completion of a formal military instructor certification course.
- Experience with electronic encryption devices, frequency management, or communications security (COMSEC) support.
- Knowledge of Marine Corps communication and maintenance doctrine.
