Vehicle Operator Instructor

Summary:
The Vehicle Operator Instructor will deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in support of ACV operator training, ensuring U.S. service members are prepared to conduct safe and effective vehicle operations both on land and in water. Instructors will lead students through all phases of Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), inspections, and operational tasks as outlined in official technical manuals and training systems. The position requires strict adherence to Assault Amphibian Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (AATOPS 01-ACV2) and high-level subject matter expertise. *Position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction on ACV operations, including system/subsystem controls, operator-level maintenance, and waterborne procedures.
- Ensure all operator training meets the proficiency standards set by AATOPS 01-ACV2, including required swimming qualifications for waterborne vehicle operations.
- Conduct instruction on tasks such as inspections, PMCS, and technical references applicable to ACV operations and maintenance at the operator level.
- Maintain and update assigned periods of instruction, lesson plans, and training records in accordance with curriculum requirements.
- Review and provide recommendations for changes to training content, including lesson plans, student guides, visual aids, and evaluations.
- Support the delivery of training incident events and scenarios as defined within the ACV FoV programs and associated training systems.
- Utilize and reference current operator-level technical manuals and associated instructional materials.
- Perform administrative tasks related to curriculum maintenance and instructor responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience training service members in a formal military period of instruction or equivalent training program.
- Must meet the swimming proficiency requirements for waterborne ACV operation as outlined in AATOPS 01-ACV2.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English, including technical terminology related to operation, maintenance, and assembly/disassembly of vehicle systems.
- Demonstrated experience in instructing ACV or comparable combat vehicle operations.
- Familiarity with Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and technical references at the operator level.
- Strong instructional, communication, and evaluation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACV) or legacy AAV platforms.
- Completion of a military instructor training course (e.g., Marine Corps Formal Schools Instructor Course).
- Experience supporting U.S. Marine Corps vehicle operator programs or similar DoD efforts.
- Background in curriculum development or review of technical training materials.
