ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing all operations related to the restaurant, including bar and kitchen functions. This role is key in maintaining a positive, efficient, and high-quality work environment while ensuring the success of Hatch Early Mood Food. The Assistant General Manager contributes to the success of the team by providing leadership and assistance in organizing, coordinating, and ensuring the success of daily operations, special events, and community activities.

They will assist in upholding an excellent guest experience, ensuring quick, courteous, and high-quality service at all times. The Assistant General Manager will help lead the training and supervision of team members, bartenders, and team leads. They must demonstrate strong product knowledge and uphold the standards, policies, and values of Hatch Early Mood Food.

Store Operations:

  • Supporting the General Manager in managing profitable operations and monitoring controllable expenses and labor costs.

  • Helping drive sales volume growth and promoting a positive guest experience.

  • Assisting in the planning and execution of promotions and maintaining the restaurant's positive community image.

  • Ensuring adequate inventory of product, merchandise, and supplies.

  • Verifying completion of all opening and closing duties.

  • Supporting delegation of tasks to team leads and team members as directed by the General Manager.

  • Assisting in maintaining restaurant cleanliness, backroom organization, and equipment functionality.

  • Helping track and manage inventory with accuracy.

  • Supporting loss prevention efforts and reporting any potential safety hazards.

  • Responding appropriately to emergencies and ensuring necessary procedures are followed.

  • Maintaining regular communication with the General Manager regarding issues, events, or concerns.

Service:

  • Modeling outstanding customer service and assisting in the delivery of an exceptional guest experience.

  • Supporting conflict resolution and guest concern management.

  • Helping ensure all team members adhere to Hatch Early Mood Food's service standards and policies.

  • Encouraging and guiding team members to deliver high-quality service.

  • Supporting team cleanliness, professionalism, and adherence to service expectations.

  • Assisting with training team members in product knowledge and service techniques.

Product:

  • Maintaining strong knowledge of all menu items and services, including alcoholic beverages, seasonal specials, and coffee beverages.

  • Upholding product quality standards at all times.

  • Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of recipe standards.

  • Supporting kitchen and bar operations through training and quality control efforts.

Training & Development:

  • Assisting in the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.

  • Supporting performance feedback and development plans for team members.

  • Helping to implement coaching, correction, and recognition strategies.

  • Assisting with new hire training and ongoing team development.

  • Fostering a high-performing, team-oriented work culture.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must be willing and able to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.

  • Must hold or have the ability to obtain a current Oklahoma liquor license.

  • Certain locations will require a valid food handler's permit.

  • Effective communication skills, including during confrontation or conflict.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

  • At least one year of experience in retail, register, or cash handling preferred.

  • Basic computer proficiency.

  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, overtime, and special events.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Capable of working in varying light conditions and handling food and beverages safely.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
