Job Title: Teacher Assistant
Job Site: Weatherford Early Childhood Center
Job Goal: To assist the teacher(s) in the development and teaching of each student in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist teacher or step into her role if necessary.
- Reinforcement of all academic areas.
- Reinforcement of discipline procedures.
- Reinforcement of any behavior modification program.
- Teach groups or individuals.
- Grade papers; keep attendance; record grades.
- Assist in lesson plans, developing classroom materials and related projects.
- Maintain student and classroom files.
- Accompany students to elective or special classes when necessary.
- Assist on field trips.
- All activities related to classroom assistance.
- Assist in supervision of lunch and recess time.
- Assist and supervise children during rehearsals and performances of music programs, etc.
Length of Contract: One hundred sixty-nine (169) contract days.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Principal.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
None required.
SKILLS: Ability to read, write and assist student in basic educational skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed
to perform essential job functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of
Education policies.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by
an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable
