Position Overview
The Marketing and Events Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning, promotion, and execution of the annual Celebrate Springfield event. This part-time position requires a creative and organized individual with experience in marketing, public relations, and event coordination. The coordinator will work closely with the Celebrate Springfield team to ensure the event's success and enhance community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between Celebrate Springfield and community partners to foster relationships and secure sponsorships.
- Attend community meetings and events to promote Celebrate Springfield and gather feedback for future improvements.
Marketing and Public Relations:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the Celebrate Springfield event across various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and local media outlets.
- Create compelling content that highlight event features, schedules, and partnerships.
- Manage and update the event's social media platforms to engage the community and increase event visibility.
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Assist in organizing event logistics, including vendor coordination, scheduling, and on-site setup
- Collaborate with local businesses, artists, and performers to curate diverse and engaging event programming.
- Coordinate volunteer efforts to ensure adequate staffing and support during the event.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in marketing, public relations, and event coordination.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
