Hostess/Door Person

The Skate Haus is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Hostess/Door Person to be the welcoming face of our venue. This position plays a key role in creating a fun and safe experience for all guests, from check-in to check-out. Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests with a positive attitude as they arrive.
• Check and verify waivers for all skaters and guests.
• Manage guest check-in process, ensuring all payments, forms, and rentals are properly handled.
• Accept payments for admissions, skate rentals, and concessions, accurately handling cash and card transactions.
• Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and assist with end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Check in and check out skate rentals, ensuring all skates are returned and properly stored.
• Provide basic information about the venue, rules, and upcoming events.
• Assist in clearing tables, wiping down surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness in guest areas between groups.
• Monitor guest flow at the entrance and skate rental area to avoid bottlenecks.
• Help enforce venue rules and policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Assist with phone calls, reservations, and party bookings when needed.
• Support other hostess duties as assigned by management.

Opening & Closing Responsibilities:

• Ensure entrance and front desk areas are clean and fully stocked at the start of each shift.
• Set up check-in station, including waivers, wristbands, and cash drawer setup.
• At end of shift, assist with clean-up duties including:
• Clearing tables and disposing of trash.
• Wiping down tables, counters, and seating areas.
• Returning all unused rental skates to the proper area and sanitizing if needed.
• Sweeping and spot mopping entryways and common areas as needed.
• Assisting with any end-of-night guest check-outs.
• Reconciling the cash drawer and submitting any required shift reports.
• Ensure all skates, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and secured.
• Assist with final walk-through to confirm all areas are guest-ready for the next shift.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cash handling and customer service preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable enforcing rules in a friendly but firm manner.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and assist with light cleaning duties.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
