The Skate Haus is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Hostess/Door Person to be the welcoming face of our venue. This position plays a key role in creating a fun and safe experience for all guests, from check-in to check-out. Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests with a positive attitude as they arrive.
- Check and verify waivers for all skaters and guests.
- Manage guest check-in process, ensuring all payments, forms, and rentals are properly handled.
- Accept payments for admissions, skate rentals, and concessions, accurately handling cash and card transactions.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and assist with end-of-shift reconciliation.
- Check in and check out skate rentals, ensuring all skates are returned and properly stored.
- Provide basic information about the venue, rules, and upcoming events.
- Assist in clearing tables, wiping down surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness in guest areas between groups.
- Monitor guest flow at the entrance and skate rental area to avoid bottlenecks.
- Help enforce venue rules and policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Assist with phone calls, reservations, and party bookings when needed.
- Support other hostess duties as assigned by management.
Opening & Closing Responsibilities:
- Ensure entrance and front desk areas are clean and fully stocked at the start of each shift.
- Set up check-in station, including waivers, wristbands, and cash drawer setup.
- At end of shift, assist with clean-up duties including:
- Clearing tables and disposing of trash.
- Wiping down tables, counters, and seating areas.
- Returning all unused rental skates to the proper area and sanitizing if needed.
- Sweeping and spot mopping entryways and common areas as needed.
- Assisting with any end-of-night guest check-outs.
- Reconciling the cash drawer and submitting any required shift reports.
- Ensure all skates, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and secured.
- Assist with final walk-through to confirm all areas are guest-ready for the next shift.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cash handling and customer service preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable enforcing rules in a friendly but firm manner.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and assist with light cleaning duties.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
