Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Evaluation
- Perform continuous assessments of both new and existing server infrastructure to ensure they meet the requirements of current applications and future product services.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to optimize server performance, scalability, and alignment with evolving technology standards.
- Architectural Collaboration
- Participate in high-level architectural discussions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate to ensure proposed solutions meet both the business objectives and operational needs of the company.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering and operational teams to understand their technical requirements, operational challenges, and support needs.
- Provide tailored recommendations that address these needs while supporting the broader objectives of the telecommunications infrastructure.
- Automation Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automation strategies for compute and storage certification processes, bare metal provisioning, and other domain-specific tasks.
- Identify opportunities for automation across processes to streamline operations, reduce manual interventions, and improve efficiency.
- Documentation Management
- Create, maintain, and update critical documentation, including Compute Certifications, Implementation Guides, Technical Bulletins, and Design Specifications.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and accessible, providing a reliable resource for engineering and operational teams.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a formal degree.
- Data Center Infrastructure: Demonstrated experience in administering, integrating, and designing data center infrastructure solutions, specifically in high-availability environments.
- Server Hardware: Expertise in rack and blade server hardware configurations and deployments.
- Virtualization Platforms: Proficiency in working with virtualization technologies, enabling efficient resource management.
- SAN Switching and Storage Technologies: In-depth knowledge of SAN switching and advanced storage solutions.
- Basic Networking: Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts, ensuring seamless connectivity across systems.
- Cloud Management Platforms: Experience with managing cloud platforms, providing a foundation for scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- Cisco UCS B-Series Infrastructure: Extensive experience with Cisco UCS B-Series servers and UCS Manager.
- Container Technologies: Knowledge of container orchestration platforms and container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Workflow Orchestration: Experience with workflow orchestration platforms, automating complex processes and increasing operational efficiency.
- Technical Drawings and Schematics: Proficiency in creating technical drawings and schematics using tools such as Lucidchart or Visio to clearly communicate infrastructure layouts and system designs.
