The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, data engineering fundamentals, and a willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Datastage Development: Lead and execute data integration and ETL processes using Datastage.
- Data Management: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data management systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, IT teams, and data scientists to design and implement data solutions.
- Data Integration: Move, integrate, and test data across platforms, ensuring quality and performance.
- Agile Environment: Collaborate with agile teams to design, develop, and modernize data ingestion and optimization processes.
- Problem Solving: Be proactive in identifying data-related issues and creating solutions for better performance and scalability.
- Datastage Development: Extensive hands-on experience with Datastage for ETL, data movement, and integration.
- SQL Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SQL for querying, analyzing, and managing databases.
- ETL Testing: Experience in testing and ensuring the quality of data pipelines.
- Data Integration: Expertise in moving and integrating large data sets across platforms.
- Linux: Familiarity with Linux operating systems for platform management.
- Oracle: Experience with Oracle databases.
- Snowflake: Knowledge of Snowflake for cloud-based data solutions.
- Tomcat: Experience with Tomcat for web applications and system architecture.
- Education: A technical degree in computer science, information systems, or related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience is also considered.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, with a strong focus on Datastage development.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with data mining practices, data algorithms, and advanced data engineering techniques.
- Technical Skills: Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL), and backend programming languages (Java, J2EE, etc.).
- System Design: Design and construct scalable data management systems to meet business and industry standards.
- Algorithms & Models: Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and data prototypes.
- Data Architecture: Integrate new technologies into existing data structures and collaborate with teams on project goals.
- Disaster Recovery: Install and update disaster recovery procedures to ensure data reliability.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements for data reliability, quality, and system performance.
- Candidates must be local to the Cincinnati metro area, within a 30-minute drive to the worksite.
- Relocation candidates will only be considered if they are willing to relocate at their own expense and can start on-site from day one.
