- Participate in architecture definition, design reviews, and requirements generation.
- Perform Signal Integrity (SI) measurements (TDR, TDT, crosstalk, jitter, eye pattern, power plane noise) to validate SI and Power Integrity (PI) designs.
- Document and share results with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Simulate and analyze design proposals, providing optimization recommendations to design engineers.
- Design hardware with a focus on manufacturability, DFx considerations, and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee hardware design through worst-case analysis, simulations, schematic capture, and de-rating.
- Define PCB stack-ups, select via technologies, manage part placement, set design constraints, and conduct SI/PI analysis.
- Actively work with team members during design, verification, and RMA processes.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other hardware engineers on the team.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid foundation in transmission line fundamentals, time-domain, and frequency-domain concepts.
- Proficiency in PCB design for high-speed signals, power routing, EMI/ESD protection, and signal integrity (including SerDes).
- Demonstrated creativity in solving complex SI challenges.
- Skilled in SPICE and IBIS simulations, with experience in Hspice.
- Practical experience with design and simulation tools, including:
- Cadence Sigrity and Allegro Power-Aware SI
- Mentor Graphics HyperLynx
