Key responsibilities of an executive legal secretary may include :
Calendar Management :
Proactively managing complex attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, court appearances, depositions, and client meetings, ensuring accurate time management and conflict resolution.
Document Preparation :
Creating, formatting, and proofreading complex legal documents including contracts, briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery requests with meticulous attention to detail.
Client Communication :
Handling sensitive client inquiries, coordinating communication with clients, and maintaining positive client relationships.
Legal Research :
Assisting attorneys with legal research by gathering relevant case law, statutes, and other legal materials.
File Management :
Organizing and maintaining comprehensive client files, ensuring accurate document indexing and retrieval.
Meeting Coordination :
Preparing meeting agendas, coordinating logistics, and taking detailed minutes during client and internal meetings.
Trial Preparation :
Supporting attorneys during trial preparation by organizing exhibits, compiling evidence, and coordinating with court personnel.
E-Filing and Court Submissions :
Electronically filing legal documents with courts and managing court deadlines.
Administrative Tasks :
Managing travel arrangements, expense reports, and other administrative tasks as needed.
