Job Summary:
A SEASONAL warehouse material handler performs tasks associated with moving goods from one place to another. A forklift operator can be expected to check inventory, do cycle counts, operate palletizer and record production, use a handheld bar code scanner, stage and ship product. Inspect and maintain equipment. Other tasks could involve wrapping loads with a shrink wrapper, loading goods onto and off a truck and cleaning the warehouse. Data entry processing of bill of ladings for all out going loads.
Seasonal Position
Schedule –
1st Shift: The team member is expected to work during production hours which may include daily overtime and Saturday or Sunday production.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate forklift and trailer jack stand safely and properly.
- Have a full understanding of company Safety/GMP policies.
- Training and Knowledge of Inventory System and the ability to understand functions in scan gun (PLEX).
- Daily housekeeping and general daily preventative maintenance.
- Ability to identify, and move, product to the appropriate location(s).
- Understanding of how to read sales orders/purchase orders.
- Ability to load shipments on truck trailers.
- Ability to create and receive interplant BOL’s.
- Ability to read and understand BOL’s and processes.
- Create and complete cycle counts.
- Keep accurate inventory using FIFO process.
- Able to perform troubleshooting to root cause.
- Manage time.
- Open and close warehouse.
- Coordinating work with the warehouse staff and efficiently carrying out the orders of the Warehouse Supervisor and Materials Manager.
- Communicate issues regarding Forklifts / Warehouse equipment to Warehouse Supervisor/Materials Manager.
- Basic administrative duties.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Three years of experience driving forklift.
- Should have good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to efficiently coordinate work with co-workers and take orders from superiors.
- Awareness of the safety and official procedures for handling good and supplies.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis
- Ability to use a computer and scan guns efficiently and accurately.
- Able to drive forklift safely, efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Regular attendance required.
