Position : Development and Marketing Associate
Status : Full Time
Reports to : Director of Development Pay : $51,000-$53,000

Position Summary :
The Development and Marketing Associate is a key role within HAVEN, responsible for managing donor relationships, executing marketing initiatives, and supporting fundraising events. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for HAVEN's mission, the ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships, and a creative approach to marketing and branding.
Key Responsibilities :
Donor Management & Cultivation :
- Oversee a portfolio of 75-100 donor prospects.
- Cultivate, steward, and solicit donors to further the mission of HAVEN.
- Develop and implement strategies for donor retention and growth.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to secure funding.
- Maintain accurate donor records and track interactions in the donor database.
Marketing & Communications :
Plan, design, write, and prepare HAVEN mailings, including newsletters, appeal letters, and event invitations.Execute donor email campaigns, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement.Assist with social media execution, including content creation, design, and writing.Uphold HAVEN’s brand in all communications and marketing materials.Community Engagement & Representation :
Represent HAVEN at external events, including tabling opportunities, networking events, and third-party events.Build and maintain relationships with community partners to increase HAVEN’s visibility and impact.Serve as an ambassador for HAVEN, effectively communicating the organization’s mission and programs.Event Planning & Management :
Schedule, plan, and execute fundraising events, including managing logistics, vendor relationships, and volunteer coordination for HAVEN events and third-party eventsWork with the Director of Development to establish event goals and develop strategies to achieve them.Attend and participate in committee meetings as needed, providing support and input for event planning and execution.Goal Setting & Strategic Planning :
Collaborate with the Director of Development to establish fundraising goals and develop strategies to achieve them.Monitor progress toward goals and adjust strategies as needed to ensure success.General Office Support :
Perform filing and clerical duties, ensuring organized and efficient office operations.Answer donor calls, providing excellent customer service and donor stewardship.Assist with other duties as assigned to support the development team and overall organization.Core Competencies :
Ability to work with people of various socio-economic, multi-cultural, multi-racial backgrounds and sexual orientationsExcellent written and oral communication skills and outstanding organizational skills required.Models a positive attitude or change / or “difficult” situationsUses effective time managementMust be able to commute to Pontiac 5 days per week.Must possess a valid drivers license.Must successfully pass a background check.Requirements :
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit development, marketing, or a related area.Proven ability to manage donor relationships and make successful fundraising asks.Strong writing, editing, and design skills, with experience in email marketing and social media.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent HAVEN effectively in various settings.Commitment to upholding HAVEN’s mission and values in all aspects of work.Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Raiser’s Edge NXT required.Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.HAVEN is an equal opportunity employer.
