Position Summary
The Academic Interventionist will provide educational services to students who are struggling in academics.
Duties and responsibilities, to include; but are not limited to:
- Participates as an integral professional member of the education team.
- Supports and guides students during individual and small group activities.
- Utilizes the principle of a trauma-informed model.
- Maintains progress notes.
- Attends education team meetings as scheduled.
- Effectively utilizes techniques of classroom behavior management.
- Provides academic support based on problems identified in assessment.
- Patricipates as a positive and active member of the education team
- Attends hospital mandatory training/in-services as required.
- Adheres to hospital policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Completion of at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education, or has an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution, or has passed the College Board SAT or ETS Parapro Assessment, required.
- Experience in treating Impulse Disorder population preferred (On Impulse Disorder Unit).
- Experience with Special Needs preferred.
