What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anticipated Secretary to High School Principal position at Haverford High School?
To provide secretarial support to the building principal, maintain an effective, productive and friendly office environment that enhances the educational experience for students and staff.
Primary Duties:
* Secretary/Clerical functions assigned by Haverford High School Administration Team.
* Experience with school based software, google suite, and microsoft suite preferred.
* Ability to work in a vibrant setting
* Experience is a school setting preferred.
* Ability to work well with 2,000 students and close to 250 staff member.
* Provide secretarial services for the principal, including correspondence, filing, mail, phone messages and appointments.
* Process registrations, record student transfers, student attendance and maintain student databases.
* Maintain a database for staff and record and process attendance records.
* Complete required forms, purchase orders, school calendar and other publications as required.
* Interface with students and all levels of employees and external contacts.
* Perform required functions on computer and other office machines assisting teachers and principal as needed.
* Maintain bookkeeping related to Student Activity Fund.
* Maintain confidentiality with students, parents and staff information.
* Handle all aspects of the telephone system, distributing messages as needed, along with any other position-related duties requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma.
* Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
* Proficient clerical skills, including organizational skills, with the ability to work independently with frequent interruptions and to meet deadlines.
* Ability to demonstrate diplomacy when dealing with parents, teachers, staff, community members and other external contacts; and to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple responsibilities with numerous distractions and capable to react to change productively.
* Ability to be a self-starter with strong office management skills, completing tasks in a timely manner.
Terms of Employment:
* 12 months, 7 1/2 hours per day. (7:00 am to 3:00 pm with a 1/2 unpaid lunch)
* $23.97 per hour after successful probationary period.
