POSITION SUMMARY:

Hawai‘i Behavioral Health (HBH) is seeking a Certified BCBA to provide Training & Consultation (T&C) services through the Developmental Disabilities Division Program on Oʻahu.

This role focuses on supporting adults aged 22 and older with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. As a BCBA with HBH, you’ll work closely with participants, families, caregivers, service supervisors, and direct support staff to implement strategies that align with the goals and outcomes identified in each Individualized Service Plan (ISP) through a person-centered planning process.

T&C services are designed to enhance each participant’s independence, promote community inclusion, and support meaningful progress toward a more empowered life. Services may be provided in the participant’s home, in community settings (such as Adult Day Health Programs), or remotely through telehealth, as specified in the Individualized Service Plan (ISP). This position offers a flexible schedule and option to inter-island travel to support participants across the state.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Providing recommendations to inform the person-centered planning process and support the development of meaningful goals, objectives, and outcomes.
  • Supervising and monitoring participants, families, caregivers, and providers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with the ISP.
  • Developing behavioral support plans and protocols to address identified needs and promote participant well-being.
  • Delivering initial and/or ongoing training, instruction, and technical assistance, which may include:
    • Supportive counseling to strengthen family systems and promote emotional well-being.
    • Instruction on treatment regimens and other services outlined in the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) or Action Plan.
    • Training for caregivers and providers on the use of equipment or tools specified in the service plan.
    • Providing updates and modifications to plans as needed to ensure the participant’s continued safety and success in the home and community.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Certified BCBA
  • 2 years of experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
