What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Helper position at Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: (This position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person in the job. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities and skills required.)
Delivers meals safely to all contracted sites as needed.
Maintains effective records of deliveries. Ensures that all delivery receipts are accurate and turned in promptly to Kitchen Manager by end of shift.
Performs pre-operation vehicle inspections prior to leaving facility. Ensures vehicle complies with all safety requirements.
Conducts light maintenance of vehicles, including cleaning, oil/water/battery checks, etc.
Ensures that vehicles receive regular maintenance/safety checks by qualified mechanics. Monitor vehicles and report problems to the Kitchen Manager.
Follows the USDA practices and procedures; assists the cook in the production of meals, which may include but not limit to, cutting meats, fruits and vegetables as needed.
Adheres to menu and daily production sheets in the preparation and serving of all meals.
Checks daily inventory and ensure food, drink, and kitchen supplies have been ordered or are on hand.
Keeps all equipment, storage rooms, walk in and freezer organized, clean and safe.
Assists in daily cleanliness of kitchen/dining room, i.e., sweep/mop, trash removal and as situation dictates.
Ensures that all health and safety codes are being followed.
May be temporarily assigned to an equal or higher position in HCEOC as needed. Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with HCEOC employees and contract agents. Performs other duties as directed by the Cook and Kitchen Manager.
