Summary Job Description: Preliminary work-up of patients, including detailed medical history, refraction and testing; other clinical duties as needed.
Greets patients with a smile! Completes a detailed patient history which includes: past medical history (systemic and ocular), family medical history (systemic and ocular) medication history (systemic and ocular) and the chief complaint. Checks patient's uncorrected (when applicable) and corrected visual acuity for distance and near. Neutralizes eye glasses by either manual lensometry or automated. Responsible for care, maintenance and stocking of assigned room(s).Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies in a timely manner. Accurately perform: Exams, Tonometry, Refractions, Diagnostic Testing * Ability to efficiently manage patient flow on a doctor’s schedule. Other duties as assigned by management. Certification not required, but strongly preferred. Will consider multiple years experience working for an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
