About us: The Hawaii Theatre Center is a non-profit in Honolulu seeking professional janitorial staff. The home of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, and a venue for internationally acclaimed artists visiting the island, the Hawaii Theatre is known as the Pride of the Pacific.
Janitorial Tech plays a crucial role in ensuring our offices and Theatre spaces are tidy and hygienic at all times. This position is ideal for individuals seeking flexible, part-time work with a great local organization.
Duties Include:
- Perform janitorial duties 3-4 days (-20 hours) a week, including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces primarily in our administrative offices. Cleaning of specific Theatre spaces may be required at times.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly.
- Ensure cleanliness of restrooms (two upstairs, two downstairs) and maintain fully stocked dispensers for paper towels, bathroom tissues, and soap.
- Report maintenance and repair needs to the Administrative Team.
- Complete light maintenance tasks such as lightbulb or battery replacements, as well as other small projects (no special skills required). Be able to do minor building maintenance.
- Adhere to the Theatre’s best practices for safety and security.
- Complement the work of our current janitorial staff to ensure a clean, pleasant environment.
Working Days:
-3-4 shifts a week are available (shifts are 4 hours)
Preferred Skills and Traits Includes:
- 6 months janitorial or housekeeping experience is preferred, though not required. We’re willing to train motivated and detailed-oriented applicants.
Able to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and occasional ladder-climbing as needed for the job.
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work part-time hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.

Salary: From $16.00 to $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18-20 hours per week
