ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs duties in support of the established policies, standards, and procedures for enterprise Compliance Risk Management.
Conducts the work necessary to execute the Compliance Management Program.
Conducts research into changes in laws, and/or regulations that impact the Credit Union and its operations and presents findings to senior Compliance staff for review and implementation with partner business units.
Provides foundational guidance to the other departments regarding operational implementation of procedures in accordance with Federal laws and regulations.
Produces compliance reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Presents analysis to the Compliance and ERM department as needed.
Coordinates the review of disclosures, forms, advertising and other marketing materials for compliance through senior compliance staff or third-party Compliance vendors.
Assists in the coordination of compliance audits with senior Compliance staff or third-party Compliance vendors.
Coordinates and conducts the annual approval of board policies for the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership.
Coordinates and conducts the annual review and approval of the Credit Union records management policy and related program documents.
Coordinates training on compliance topics in accordance with the Compliance & Risk Training program for the Credit Union in partnership with senior Compliance staff and external parties (third-party vendors and the Training & Development department).
Coordinates with business partners to ensure the completion of corrective actions determined through compliance findings presented by various consultants, auditors, and regulatory examiners.
Assists with various projects and special assignments as directed by the Compliance Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College degree or equivalent related job experience.
2-3 years in a related career path, with experience in financial services and/or enterprise risk management roles in cross-functional frameworks.
2 years of experience with working gaining knowledge in credit union laws and regulations.
One or more compliance certifications (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE), NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO), etc.), or able to obtain within the first year of employment.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Compliance principles and practices.
Business communication – Verbal and writing.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, at an advanced level.

General understanding of compliance risk management principles and practices used to design and administer an enterprise risk management program.

The expected pay range for the Compliance Officer is $57,680 - $68,500/ year.
