HawkMtn Labs, Inc. (HML), an established and respected environmental analytical testing laboratory located near Hazleton Pennsylvania, has an immediate opening for an experienced Microbiologist.
Responsibilities include but at are not limited to the following :
- Ensure adherence to Quality System, PA DEP Chapter 252, efficiency standards and regulatory requirements in laboratory operations
- Coordinate workflow, ensure efficient coverage and performance to meet turn- around-times
- Perform routine & non-routine microbiological analyses and related procedures; record, document data according to regulatory requirements
- Prepare and / or review written documents (including, but not limited to, work instructions, standard operating procedures, protocols, reports, and investigations)
- Review data in LIMS Laboratory Database, data notebooks, packets and reports
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, perform equipment trouble shooting and maintenance, recognize errors, identify root causes, apply process improvement; maintain excellent working knowledge of laboratory equipment
- Ensure excellent understanding and user ability of laboratory LIMS system
- Ensure safe work practices are followed in the microbiology lab and other laboratories under their direct supervision
- Maintain knowledge of current and improved technologies for microbiology
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and internal staff members

This position is Full Time position, including partial weekend and holidays hours with overtime as needed.
