SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordinating valuation requests and maintaining regulation requirements. Work is performed within the framework of standard operating policies and procedures; however, independent judgment and discretion is required in performing assigned tasks. Deviations from normal procedures and/or questions are referred to the designated supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage the email inbox for commercial & consumer evaluation requests to include ordering and tracking evaluations, sending required disclosures, and communicating appraisal requests.

Manage the email inbox for commercial & consumer appraisal requests to include ordering and tracking appraisals, maintaining a compliant appraiser rotation, and delivering valuations timely.

Review and distribute commercial appraisals and evaluations in accordance with credit policy.

Prepare, review and distribute commercial real estate evaluations according to the bank’s methodologies and best practices.

Manage and maintain Hawthorn Banks approved appraisal list; research licenses; maintain appraiser files and report approved appraiser list to the board annually.

Serve as back-up for Credit Analyst duties when needed.

Review and analyze existing commercial loans to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with basic financial requirements, loan covenants and credit risk assessments.

Create and run queries; conduct industry research and analysis.

Prepare forms, reports, correspondence, memoranda, etc.; answer calls and provide assistance to customers. Perform project work, as assigned.

Comply with all banking regulations, policies and procedures.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops. Represent the bank in a variety of community activities and functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Possess a four-year college degree from an accredited university or institution with the major area of study in accounting, finance, business administration or other closely related discipline. Work experience and/or college coursework can be substituted for the four-year college degree.

Posses a minimum of one year of professional work experience in a finance related position or other closely related field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: telephone, 10-key calculator, typewriter, personal computer and printer, copy machine, fax machine. Must have working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs. Advanced PC knowledge.

KEY CONTACTS--Internal and External
Regular external interaction with appraisers and evaluators to ensure accurate and timely property assessments. Frequent collaboration with individuals within the Commercial Lending Department to support lending activities and related processes.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license.

COMMENTS
Position requires the ability to work before or after normal business hours to meet deadlines and attend various meetings. Job-related travel may be required.
