MARKET DRIVER
RESPONSIBILITIES
The mission of Hawthorne Valley Farm Greenmarket is to provide the highest quality biodynamic and organic food to the community at reasonable prices and in a profitable manner; in so doing the greenmarket will support the ongoing mission of Hawthorne Valley Farm and Association (Education, Arts, and Agriculture).

PURPOSE:
To drive truck safely to and from market and be part of the selling staff at the market
REPORTS TO:
Market Operations Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES:
MERCHANDISING
Unload and setup stand
STAND MAINTENANCE
Ensure that unsellable items are returned or otherwise properly disposed of, following established procedures
Maintain equipment in working order. Monitor all equipment and follow established procedures for handling breakdowns. Advise manager/supervisor of equipment problems or needs
Participate in end of day inventory
Load market at end of selling day
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Assists customers with product questions, in prompt, friendly manger
Offer samples and suggestions for purchase and use of products, as appropriate
Help customers place special orders, set aside special orders, match product with special order form and call customers
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend Greenmarket meetings
Be involved in on farm projects
Participate in regular equipment cleaning and maintaining
Consistently report to work on time, starting tasks at the beginning of scheduled shift
Perform other tasks assigned by Greenmarket manager
Ability to self direct and stay on task
QUALIFICATIONS
Safe driving record
Organized, accurate with details
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to operate fork lift
Familiarity with organic & biodynamic foods
Ability to lead
Regular, predictable attendance
Willingness to work weekend days and some evenings.
Ability to handle multiple demands while staying calm
Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality
Communication skills: good listening, clear instructions
Willingness and ability to learn to meet the changing requirements of the job
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Experience driving large trucks in city traffic
