Job Summary:
As an Inside Parts Sales Representative, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers. Your primary objective will be to promote and sell our wide range of new and used heavy equipment parts. You will be expected to meet sales targets, identify new business opportunities, and provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. You will be expected to be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
This position offers the potential to advance into roles such as Parts Sales and Service Representative (PSSR) or Outside Parts Sales contingent upon demonstrated skills and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively prospect and generate new leads to expand the customer base.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through regular visits and communication.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable parts and products to meet their requirements.
- Provide product demonstrations, technical information, and assistance to customers.
- Collaborate with the internal sales and support teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Prepare and submit sales reports and other documentation as required.
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Be proficient in using our operating system, dealer and vendor resources, and other sales tools to document and properly bill all parts sales.
- Properly maintain your own customer base and aging accounts reports.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Assist colleagues in their tasks when required, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
- Positively take ownership of the customer experience with Hayden Machinery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a sales environment, preferably in the Heavy Equipment and Industrial industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong product knowledge and a willingness to continually learn about new parts and components. Can keep up with market trends and changing customer needs.
- Familiarity with leveraging social media platforms for marketing and sales purposes, including creating posts, engaging with customers, and promoting products to expand the customer base.
- Basic technical understanding to assist customers effectively.
- Proficiency in using sales and inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- A customer-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Physical Abilities/Requirements:
- Able to work overtime, including evenings, occasional weekends, holidays (on rare occasions) and traveling/overnight stays.
- Able to stand for an extensive amount of time. Able to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Work is performed with some exposure to outside elements and seasonal environmental factors. Periodic stooping, bending and lifting can occur.
