SUMMARY: Welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble various industry parts by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring parts are made or processed in accordance with instructions listed on the Process Control Plan and Inspection Sheet
  • Efficiently and effectively operating single robot MIG weld cells
  • Efficiently and effectively operating double trunion robot MIG weld cells
  • Ensuring parts are made or processed in a prompt manner and production output figures are met.
  • Working in a safe manner and in accordance with safety policies and procedures and reporting potential or actual hazards to their elected health and safety representative. Setting a positive example to others in the work area.
  • Observing all workplace rules and regulations.
  • Training new personnel on operating Robots. i.e.: gauging, loading and unloading of parts, highlighting the Quality requirements, maintenance requirements to the Robot.
  • Allocating stock in and out of Robot weld area.
  • Carrying out tasks that may cause significant environmental impacts, as required.
  • Carrying out other production tasks as nominated by the Area Supervisor and maintain strong working relationships with Production Operators and the Area Quality Assurance Officer
  • Adjusting and setting Robotic Weld machines to specification.
  • Identifying work in progress with Work Order cards and signing off their operation as complete.
  • Assisting the Quality Assurance Department with any customer concerns/problems resolution.
  • Ensuring their work areas are kept clean, neat and tidy at all times.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILMES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • High school or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Completion of formal vocational-tech program or completion of in-company training to satisfaction of supervisor or 3-5 years of documented work in field of applicant.
  • Must be able to pass a welder qualification test per code of construction; 3 position, 111 plate test with a backing bar using flux core wire.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable. Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work.
