New Welding Training Program
Wastequip has an exciting new opportunity for those interested in perfecting their MIG welding. We will soon begin our next welder training program and are looking for candidates that are interested in perfecting their welding career. This opportunity will be located in our Alexandria, LA manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be willing to perfect their MIG weld, fitting, and read blueprints and work in a fast-paced production environment.

The program is expected to 2 / 24 / 2025 (Tentative).

Program Length : 4 weeks

Training hours : 6 : 00AM to 2 : 30PM, 5 days / week

Skills that will be taught :

Reading and understand blueprints and welding drawings

Measure and cut material to specifications

Weld materials using the correct material to join the metals together

Set-up components for welding according to specifications

Perform MIG welding according to specifications (horizontal, vertical, and overhead)

Identify and use proper welding hand tools and equipment

Position parts using clamps and tack welds

Complete quality inspection of welds

Repair welds, holes and metal parts as needed

Complete production requirements while ensuring quality and safety standards are met

Qualifications :

some exposure to MIG welding is required

Also not required, but highly desired, is experience in a manufacturing environment

Willing to work in a fast-paced production environment

Willing to learn both concepts and techniques of blueprint reading and Fitting.
