About the Role:
The Material Handler supports shipping and receiving operations by handling stock, moving materials, and operating required equipment. This role ensures accuracy, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and may assist in training other Material Handlers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts, as well as hand trucks, mules, and tuggers.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading. (Bike Optional)
- Pick and fill orders, label and stock materials, and transport items to production.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counting and consolidation.
- Prepare shipments (shrink wrapping, boxing, stacking, etc.) and load/unload trucks.
- Perform Syteline move transactions (RF scan gun).
- Maintain quality standards through visual inspection and documentation.
- Ensure a clean, safe workspace and comply with 6S, ISO, and safety procedures.
- Participate in LEAN/Kaizen activities and update production boards as needed.
Requirements of Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts (certification required).
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and arithmetic skills for inventory accuracy.
- Ability to stand/walk for most of the shift and lift moderate weights.
- Experience with packaging equipment and shipping documentation.
- Basic computer proficiency, including ERP/DRP systems (e.g., Syteline) and shipping software (FedEx, UPS).
