What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Specialist position at Hayes Residence?
Overview:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Billing: submit resident claims and ensure claims are being paid by appropriate parties. Follow up with responsible parties/county/state/insurance as needed for outstanding or denied claims. Maintains resident accounts receivables records.
- Submits MDS to State System for processing upon MDS completion. Completes reviews on processed MDS’s as indicated. Communicate on flagged/penalty items.
- Must coordinate with Ramsey County/County of Responsibility to keep all resident's Medicaid status current.
- Performs renewals for Medicaid residents to the county when due as well as any county forms needed i.e. general forms or LTC forms.
- Track resident face sheets and movements including admissions, intakes, discharges, and leaves.
- Monthly processing of SSI/RSDI (Room & Board), MNITS (Medicaid) and other third- party insurance invoicing when appropriate for billing.
- Track resident services provided and ensuring all related billing for such services fall within the different CMH contractual agreements.
- Submit reports to the county as needed.
- Support and facilitate resident transportation and medical appointments.'
- Document pertinent information in the resident's medical record as needed.
- Track MNITS service authorizations.
- Track census recording using the company EMR and reporting tools to ensure all census records match billing.
- Responsible for assisting residents with their daily needs and plans, implements, and maintains the client services for the residents to effectively use in-house and community-based services to achieve his/her highest level of functioning.
- Ensure accuracy and timely billing in MNITS.
- Collaborate across all departments to support residents
- Maintain billing files.
- Preparation and gathering of information for claims audits.
Education & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years previous AR & Billing related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of data analysis.
- Experience with banking procedures and the ability to train others.
