What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Grants position at HAYMARKET CENTER?
Description
- Assists Grant Writer in reviewing resources for federal, state, county, city, and other requests for proposals (RFPs) regularly; twice a week at a minimum.
- Regularly reviews resources for appropriate foundation grants.
- Reviews RFPs for appropriateness to Haymarket Center and forwards appropriate RFPs to the Vice President of Operations.
- Conducts academic-quality research into grant topics for background and statement of need sections of proposals; prepares accurate APA-style citations.
- Writes grant proposals as assigned and in full compliance with RFP requirements.
- Assists in all aspects of preparing a grant application for submission,including compiling required attachments and completing forms with a high level of accuracy.
- Consults with designated staff from the Finance Department on needs for grant budgets and budget revisions, which are to be prepared by the Finance Department.
- Maintains department electronic and physical files.
- Prepares and submits required grant reports.
- Ensures compliance with grant regulations.
- Manages grant databases.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science strongly preferred; will consider knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of 4 years college work.
- Strong attention to detail, and organizational skills essential.
- Experience in grant writng preferred.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to research applicable rules, regulations, and program models, and apply them to a specific program.
