Heavy Equipment Operator
As a heavy equipment operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of various machinery, such as dozers, excavators, and rollers, on excavation sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate various heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, and excavators on construction sites.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Transport materials using dump trucks and water trucks while adhering to safety regulations.
- Collaborate with coworkers and subcontractors to execute project plans efficiently and effectively.
- Follow site safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Must have strong work ethic with a professional focus on quality, efficiency and safety.
- Must be reliable/punctual, work independently and as part of a team, and have a positive attitude.
- Must have a clean driving record for the last 5 years.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (this includes marijuana per our insurance provider's requirements).
- Experience in the excavation/utility installation field preferred but NOT required.
- CDL is preferred, but NOT required.
Haynes Excavation offers year round work, with no layoffs in the slower/winter months. Pay will be based on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
