SUMMARY:
Building maintenance technicians complete a variety of maintenance and repair jobs, and typical duties can vary from day to day. Technicians may take care of landscaping and do basic janitorial work. They should be proficient in plastering, dry wall installation and painting. A building maintenance technician will be required to order supplies, maintain inventory and ensure all routine maintenance on company vehicles are completed.
JOB DUTIES:
- Minor plumbing repairs including leaky or plugged faucets and pipes
- Repair and erect wall partitions, shelves, fences, floors, doors and other related items
- Routine carpentry work
- Assist with routine maintenance of vehicles, including checking/replenishing fluids, checking tire pressure, cleaning, taking vehicles for repairs that cannot be made by staff
- Moving furniture, equipment, supplies
- Painting/decorating interior and exterior surfaces
- Janitorial duties including cleaning residences, school and offices
- Responds positively to requests for assistance by child care and treatment staff
- Maintains routine records including all key distributions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time standing, walking on sloped/hilly areas of campus, carrying, driving, lifting (up to 50 pounds), listening, speaking, reaching, writing, and participating in restraint procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Valid California driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier
- One or more years’ experience in institutional maintenance
- Working knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, automotive and welding skills
- Proficient in inventory management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift and exert self physically to perform all duties
Salary : $18 - $21
