Under general supervision the Community Outreach Specialist will provide leadership in planning, assisting, implementing, and organizing community engagements for the Commissioner Precinct 4 Office.
Individuals in this position serve at the pleasure of the current elected official.
Responsibilities• Builds and maintains relationships with members of the Precinct 4 community.
• Plans, develops, implements, and organizes events and volunteers.
• Uses social media to coordinate community activities.
• Responds to inquiries from Precinct 4 community members and other interested parties.
• Maintains a calendar of activities, community events and appearances.
• Nurtures new and old relationships with collaborative partners.
• Assists in the preparations of presentations and speeches.
• Provides creative support for internal and external communication efforts including print, web sites, electronic communication, community engagement, media, and video.
• Acquires and maintains a detailed knowledge of the Precinct 4 community.
• Monitors the success of community engagement strategies.
• Acts as the Precinct 4 point of contact to neighborhood associations, community organizations, senior centers, and other constituent-oriented groups.
• Attends relevant community activities and events.
• Uses good judgement to perform the duties of this position and how it impacts the image of the precinct and Hays County.
• Uses discretion and initiative to complete work assignments,
• Uses sound decision to set individual work priorities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience
Any equivalent combination of experience or training may be substituted on a year for year basis.
• Requires High School or GED.
• Associate degree in business administration or another related field, preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) year’s experience in public relations or community outreach.Other Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
Salary : $44,170 - $45,495
