Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant with a strong background in electrical construction. The ideal candidate will manage all financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and project specifications. This role requires a blend of accounting expertise and industry knowledge to support project managers and stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Monitor project costs and identify variances, ensuring timely reporting to project managers.

Accounting Processes:

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable specific to project activities.
• Process and track subcontractor invoices and payment applications.

Compliance and Auditing:

• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, contractual obligations, and company policies.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to track project financials.
• Support the project team in financial decision-making by providing insights and analysis.

Reporting:

• Generate periodic financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow projections, and project performance metrics.
• Present financial information to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Electrical Construction Knowledge:

• Utilize knowledge of electrical construction processes and terminology to enhance project accounting practices.
• Assist in evaluating project feasibility from a financial perspective, considering construction methodologies and cost structures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Project Accountant, preferably in the construction industry with a focus on electrical projects.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, contracts, and cost management.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
• Knowledge of project management software and tools.
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
